What are you watching?

Just curious as to what screen everyone has displayed the majority of the time?

Instant mileage display. I toggle to oil and trans temps frequently.

Instant mileage The off road screen is kind of usless her in florida. The biggest hill I've found is 3 deg.

Epic??? What are your temps? On the trans when you are towing.

Under heavy towing, engine oil is 230ish and the trans is just under 200 degrees. Trans temp seems to travel in a pretty narrow band. Even unloaded, the trans is usually just over 190 degrees. Not much variation like the engine oil. Poking around town the oil temp is mid 190's when fully warmed.

Instant MPG here too. I use the trip a/b screen, truck apps (trailer stats), oil/tans temp, and system check a lot but I always just leave it on the MPG screen.

I think having the MPG stat screen is really important. Regardless of what we get for mileage, just having the screen and monitoring fuel usage in and of itself is helping us to be more vigilant in how much fuel we burn. You know what they say, information is power. When we drive my truck we see the MPG and as a matter of instinct we try to keep the number as high as we can considering head winds, terrain, and load. If I had that screen on my 6.4 I bet I would have done a better job of trying to eek out more efficiency. Something as simple as that screen will have an impact on our oil consumption in a very broad sense.

Agreed. Nice to have an unintended consequence that is positive. Perhaps someone actually documented that unquantifiable benefit when making the case for the feature?

I keep it on the bar graph which is more or less pointless (the basic's version of the instant mpg if I were to guess) only because that's how I can tell it is in regen if I don't see the message (bars at half or less in 6th gear). Other than that, it's all bars when I'm coasting and less bars when accelerating; no kidding!

I also use the instant mileage screen more than others. Since I installed the Titan 50 gallon tank I use the trip screen more often.

I agree....it's like a video game for me. Trying to beat my last score with every tank.

I need to make this point for anyone debating amongst themselves about the message centers (XLT only). If you plan on reading this forum, get the "fancy" LCD system.

Unless you are job2 and want the idle regen then the top XLT package idea is a no-go.

Hopefully something similar in aftermarket will be out someday.

Same here. With it being so cold now, I watch the trans and oil more.

I pretty much bounce around from instant MPG(most of the time) to Trip and oil/trans temp.
