I have been admiring the windoe trim on the Lincoln Naigator as well ast the chrome wheels. I have a 1998 XLT with OEM 17 inch wheels and I was wondering will they fit.
I need to replace my window trim because it is starting to fade. I am thinking about aftermarket wheels but I have seen the Navigator wheels sell for as low $800.00 in the classified.
Has anyone tried the combination? Also has anyone bought and installed the wood grain kits for the steering wheel and dash? What about the fender flares? And a grille guard? Where is the best place to buy these items? Thanks.
LAST EDITED ON 07-Mar-01 AT 09:08 AM (EST)[p]you know that if your expy is still under warranty, your ford service will replace the black window molding? I had mine replaced, they said it discolored due to environmental damage... IE acid rain...if you are out of warranty... ask them about the TSB that ford issued about the molding and they may still replace it for free.
Thanks for the info on the warranty replacement. But I know for a fact that even with new black ones put on they may only keep their luster for a year or two.I have an 86 mustang and those moldings are discolored, too.
I think I will go with the Navigator ones for now and them triple-chrome dipped at my local trophy shop.
This process will cost me about $150.00 on top of the $200.00 I expect to pay for the Moldings. But I think the appearance value will be worth it.
Once again thanks, I may just go to Ford get the new moldings and sell them on ebay or something to cushion the cost of the chroming process.
