Ever try model railroading? Half the cost to start is getting a large enough space to set up your track and leave it there! (You need a separate building really)
Now I'm thinking that having a separate wheeling vehicle is not a bad idea after all.
Yep-- but who says this hobby is "quite affordable?" That kind of depends on where you wheel-- and what you break doing it. Driving 3-4 hours to wheel ends up costing a prety penny if you do it several times a year. Then the week long- weekend long trips even further-- I bet i spend 8-10% of my total income wheeling each year. ANd I try NOT to tear my truck up-- just kinda happens.
Hobby-- what constitues a hobby? Something you do occasinally? (once every 5 years) or something you do as often as you can-- your life is geared around it-- everything you do is someway revolved around it. Earning extra cash just to support a hobby.
Getting a pay raise makes you think "Cool more truck parts".
Hobby is something one does more than once every few years, unless it is something you have to work on consistently for a big event every few years. Going to Africa on a safari could be a hobby that one spends several years getting ready for, but only able to do once in a great while. So much for the philosophy part.
I have spare parts laying around. Unfortunately, they are probably not the ones that I will break.
