99 7.3 doesn't wanna start

Well I'm new to this, done alot of reading on this forum and it has a bunch a great ppl with answeres... And just so happens I have a problem!!

I had a oil leak, my hpop gasket.. I replaced it and started it. Idled for a good 30 min, killed it changed the oil/filter.. It was due. Started it up again, idled for another 15 min with no problems. Then go to drive it everything ok, runs fine, get about 5 miles down the road, punch it from a stop sign, it bucked and jerked/ died all same time. Has been crank no start since. Idk where to go from here.....

First off, check oil level and make sure it's full.

Pulled fuel filter, no oil? Not sure what you mean. You did have fuel in there I hope. Chech the nut on the back of the IPR and make sure it hasn't come loose. While you up there, look around for any other connections that may have come undone while you were working there the other week.

Oil in fuel canister usually means injector o-rings... And looked over elec plug ins, hp oil lines, bolts tight... And thank you!

Is you fuel pump pumping?
You do have fuel.
You know the IPR nut is on and snug.
Have tried unplugging the ICP and try starting. Sometimes this will point out a bad ICP.
Any smoke while cranking?

Sometimes, if the ICP has went bad, unplugging it will cause it to default to a limp mode. It will crank, but won't run well. Also look for oil under the plug. This to sometime shows a faulty ICP.

Ok I unplugged it, found oil to be in the elec side. Went forward with what you said, cranked and my batteries die... Still no smoke while cranking. My engine light was on, possibly because I unplugged ICP. Tmr I will get a ford computer wit VCM, to tell me codes and charge the batteries!... Thanks for the help! I will holler bak tmr wit more info on what is happening..

Yeah, until you know the batteries are good, you can't really do anything. Weak batteries will prevent one starting even if the engine still turns over.

Replaced batteries, and icp. Still wouldn't start. Figured I would double check on my work, found the bolt holding hpop gear loose.. Torqued to 96 ft lbs an started right up! Silly me! Runs like a champ again! Thank you for your help!
