transmission dilemma
I own a 1989 F150 with a 302 engine and a AOD transmission,but when new had a 4 speed with the granny gear.The previous owner installed the AOD,because he just didn't like the granny gear.I now have all the granny gear parts to put it back in.The AOD is now messing up.I want to put a manual trans.back in,but not the granny,unless I have to.What trans.can I get that will bolt up to the granny bellhousing,that has an overdrive?I am also looking for gas mileage.Would the AOD be the best for gas mileage over a manual with overdrive?

Just FYI; it might also have been a T-19 or an NP-435.
The M5OD has an integral bellhousing, so you won't have to worry about that. You may have to change your clutch plumbing, though.
