Spark Plug Change
Changed spark plugs on my v10 today. I was terrified the whole time because of all the horror stories. Looking back on it, it wasnt so bad. I took my time and sprayed penetrating oil on all the plugs last night, and today they all came out quite easily. I had to remove the throttle/cruise control bracket to get at the last two plugs on the passenger side. That was easy. The hardest part was not getting dirt into the combustion chamber, and not crossing up my threads. I used a piece of rubber hose to put all my plugs in, seems to really help with not cross threading. Since i have the PI heads i torqued my plugs to approx. 20 ft lbs. The truck seems to idle nicer, since my old plugs gap was almost .065-.070. Here's to hoping I break into the 11mpg range, as I have been getting 8-9mpg. Keeping my fingers crossed...
