Here's the one I bought. For the money, you can't beat it. It takes a Lecarra steering wheel that I bought at Summit. From the best that I can tell, the extra length will allow me to clear the shorty headers. I don't think I'd go with the shorter of your two choices. I have a 53 with a 302 V8 in it.

I'm using a 4 1/2" drop.

Thats a nice looking column at a very nice price. How well does the shaft linkage match up with a Ford transmission.

It really depends on the steering wheel/adapter you choose and prefered seating/steering position you like. If buying an Ididit with DD shaft, I'd suggest buying the longer one you can always shorten the shaft. I eneded up shortening mine X 2".

I bought a 32" but ended up shortening due to the adaptor and vintage steering wheel (superior) that had a deep offset.
I would suggest taking old column out and getting a broom handle to mock up both a comfortable length for the column as well as the drop from dash. Keep in mind steering wheel type and the height and movement of the seat too.
Compare what you figure for the new column against the old ones measurement to double check as well.
