C-6 transfer case question

I have a 1976 truck with a 400 and and a C-6. My transmission is bad so I came accross one out of a 1980. Will my transfer case work with this? Thanks

I am pretty sure he is asking if the tranmission you want to use is off a 2wd or a 4wd. But I think to answer this question just about anyone is gonna need more info. What is your truck and what is the transmission you want to run out of?

As long as it's out of another 4x4 you should be good to go.

Should as long as the '80 is a 4x4 and has the 351m or 400 with the big block bell housing, if it is a 302 or 351w, then it wont work!

Take the guts out of the good transmission and put them in the bad one.

Swapping internals is not hard at all. I had to do it one time to take the 4wd output shaft out of a C6 small block with good internals and put it in a C6 for a 6.9 IDI. I was surprised at how easy it was.

i'd just find a good used trans, the 80s c6s will swap with our if you have the same motor and all the tcases swap so no issue threre and if you swap the guts from one to another itys alot of litttle aprts that need to be put in exactly the right places or it won't workk right..
