Help needed with engine swap
I have a 99 F-250 4x4 with the 5.4L in it. It is way low on power and rattles to beat the band. I was told the timing chain tensioners are shot and it would be a big job to replace them. I found another 99 just like mine except it has the V10 in it. I'm wanting to know what the best way is to change the whole drive train (engine, tranny and transfer case) because the V10 truck only has 99,000 miles on it while mine has 300,000 on it. I would drive the V10 except it's been totaled. (rolled it 4 times) The only thing salvageable on that truck is the passenger side door. How it kept from being smashed I'll never know.
Any helpful information on swapping them would be appriciated. If anyone in the SW Missouri area would want to tackle this project can have the 5.4 set up for the labor.
