I live in Caldwell idaho the motor is in Emmett. The only reason I pulled is I bought a 1989 Ford f250 and it had the 7.3 with only 120000 on it.

Didn't '85 have the block cracking issues at the block heater? You preferred the 7.3 to the 6.9? Is the motor still fully dressed or stripped?

My understanding is the 85 block is fine, it is the 83-4 blocks that potentially had that issue.

I thought it was addressed after the early '85 and there's a certain range of block numbers to avoid in '85.
