Self Fixing Trucks?

The forum seems a bit slow lately guys, so i thought id throw in a b.s. thread. Anybody's truck ever have a problem that just fixed itself? Since i bought my truck, the blinkers just magically started working, and the blower on the AC. Also, the "high beam" light decided to start working again. The other day, i turned on the heater and the emmisions light came on and it killed the engine. That problem has since resolved itself as well, now the heater works like a champ. I love it when my truck fixes itself! Who else has a magic truck?

I'd say this thread is major B.S! If your trucks fixing problems left and right then how come mines still leaking oil?

After a period of inactivity(About 4 years), my headlights started working magically after I played with the dimmer switch. I had pressed it plenty of times before then, and they never worked. The lights still work to this day.

It didn't fix itself, but my truck has started by itself 3 times due to faulty chinese solenoids.

That's nothing. My truck makes it's own fuel! I have a 1986 with dual tanks. The rear fuel pump doesn't work so I siphoned out all the gas I could. A few months later the tank is literally overflowing with gas.

And last night I think it fixed a short in the electrical system. My dash lights were blowing the fuse. I saw a tip on here about how to check if it's the headlight switch shorting out. I put a new fuse in and the lights stayed on. Problem fixed (I hope).

Just to let you know,Your front tank is back feeding into your rear tank. I bet your gas mileage is pretty bad right now.

Thanks, I figured that's what it was after some research, but initially it was quite a surprise. It does it slowly enough that if I had the rear tank going it probably wouldn't be an issue. My dad has a 1992 with dual tanks--he runs one down to 1/4, then switches. Sometimes when he switches back the other tank that was down to about 1/4 is up to almost half. This is over a 2-3 week period.

Unfortunately, I am having just the opposite problem with my truck. Every time I fix something, the truck creates a new problem to replace the one I fixed :-)

A couple weeks ago my brake pedal lost most of it's pressure, couldn't find any leaks but had to put to the floor to stop, had to take a load to the dump on tuesday and was taking it slow on side roads, I drove about a mile or two when brakes have fixed themselves

When I first got my truck running, the cab light didn't come on, electric locks didn't work, and the passenger window didn't work. After an hour of it running cab light magically showed itself along with the locks, about a day later the window started working lol.
