I converted all my bulbs over to LEDs and installed appropriate flashers and now I have no turn signals at all. I stuck my test probe onto the flash plug and I have 12v on one side and the other side goes to ground when I use the signal. My understanding is that the fuse must be good and the switch is working.
I've built two jumpers and I have jumped both flasher plugs. So I should get turn signal lights solid one when I turn on either signal.
Where could my problem be? If one or two are out, I'd suspect grounds at the lights, but with all 4 out...
It might take a special flasher unit, because the LED's don't draw the power that regular bulbs draw.
There is a company that specializes in LED bulbs that used to advertise in one of my car magazines, and their web site explained everything you need to know when you convert to LED bulbs... But I cant find it right now.
Can you put the regular bulb back in to see if it still works that way.
OK, for those who find this thread looking for answers, I figured out two problems. The most basic was that the wires coming from the turn signal unit were not fully into the connector that takes them to the rest of the truck. This is a relatively new turn signal switch, and although it came with ends on the wires, the ends never locked into the connector and can easily be pulled out - I'm going to have to think about how to fix that problem long term. The second issues was the $43 heavy duty, solid state flashers I got from the truck supply shop didn't work. The $12 flashers I got off amazon worked great.
