I'm working on a '03 Mazda Tribute with a 3.0lt, i'm getting trouble code P0507 IAC valve idle speed above desired amount. The engine will stay idling at 1200RPM. I replaced the IAC valve, and it was good for 2 weeks then the problem came back again. I checked for vacuum leaks and i cant find any, i'm just wondering if anyone else has had or seen this problem, its really frustrating me and i have no answer to give my boss because i really don't know whats wrong.
Possible PCM problem??? Maybe, i don't want to make that assumption yet
The RPM doesn't change wheni remove the plugin, it stays the exact same with or without the IAC connected. i'ved removed the throttle body and cleaned it thouroughly

That means that you have a vacuum leak after the throttle plate that keeping it running. Without the IAC working, no air and the engine dies.
Since you replaced the IAC, it should be good but just to double check it remove it and make a gasket or whatever to block the intake ports to make sure it isn't stuck part way open.
Do you have a scanner or DMM that'll read the duty cycle of the IAC? Not exactly sure of the spec but my old '97 Ranger was around 30% at idle.
Specs are at hot idle 9.8-10.5V and 32-40% duty cycle.
Is it possible to have an intake/vacuum leak, but not see it when you spray brake clean around all the ports and all the vacuum hoses
I'm a licenced mechanic, yet something like this baffels the **** out of me
I can't exactly remember what the duty cycle was, for some reason at idle i remember seeing 9%, but on my scanner at work, which is the snap-on Modis i don't remember it saying IAC "duty Cycle", it might of said IAC ON

The label is whatever Snap On calls it.
My '97 Ranger had a lean code which turned out to be a vacuum leak but it did throw that same IAC code at times. My engine roared when carb cleaner was spray near the fuel rail. It was the gasket between the intake and fuel rail, it was cracked/sucked into the intake port . I don't remember what the IAC duty cycle was. It was idling at 2,000RPM before I finally fixed it. Being a manual shift, it was still drivable but just barely. I had to use third gear to get below 30MPH!
Are you able to spray the cleaner in every possible mating point? I know that many have problems with the "O" rings after changing plugs and not replacing them, although I've never heard of your issue. Normally it's a rough idle or misfires.
