I'm having a problem coming from passenger front side, there seems to be some resistence in that tire, acts like the brakes drag every three or four rotations of tire, this problem has beed intermittent for the last month, I've taken apart brakes and greased calipers thinking brakes were sticking, now I'm wondering if bearing in hub is going? I've got it up in the air right now and it seems pretty tight.
Did you also grease the caliper slide pins?Have you greased the bearings?Thee may be a replaceable bearing inside the bearing,I am not sure I have an early 99,someone else can answer that better than me.Have you checked the u joint for play?Jack up both tires and lock the hubs engage 4wheel ,with vehicle off,if you have 4wd,and try moving them around see if there is any play? How many miles on it?2wd,4wd?Have you checked the ball joints and as long as its up the rest of the front end componenets? The caliper is how old?How old is the brake fleid? Are there any wear marks on the rotor?
caliper slides were the first thing I did,I also greased ball joints, ball joints were changed out 15000 miles ago, drivers side hub was replaced during that time, truck is 4x4 with 130k, stock calipers etc, I haven't checked u-joints but plan to soon
I had wheel off tonight and turning hub I could hear a something- maybe it is a dry bearing, I greased that side during ball joint replacement
It's just wierd how the tire grabs and pulls to the right, seems like after I get everthing warmed up it isn't as noticeable
Check your power steering fluid and the rest of the front end,the main bearings are real expensive. There is a thread on here about greasing it through the abs hole on the bearing. If you search for it I am sure it will pop up plus alot of other info. Also look into a smaller bearing that is associated with the main bearing on your production year.I think there is a cheap replaceable bearing also for your truck.
