I picked up a set of LED tail lights for my 06 F250 CC 6.0 from tunersdepot.com
They are supposed to be plug and play. But when I got them off I cannot for the life of me figure out how they are supposed to plug in. I emailed tunersdepot and I gotta say somebody emailed within 2 hours on a Saturday. But he thought if there was something on the plug from the vehicle that might have to come off in order for them to plug in.
Here's the connector for the new tail lights. Sorry for the bad cell pictures.
Here is the wire coming from the truck that the new light is to plug into: I did take the white piece out and couldn't see how it would plug in.
Here is the websites response from where I bought them.
Usually the point where the taillights connect is the same point where you insert the bulbs into your oem taillights. Does this plug connect to a harness or a plate that then connects to your bulbs? If so, please check if the plate/harness is removable, especially if the plugs on the new LED taillights look like the mail end of your stock light bulbs
Any help would be appreciated. This one has me stumped a little.
Thank you djpahan, I never even looked at the bulb when I took it apart. It was getting dark and I didn't want to try and do it in the dark as If I got the one installed I wouldn't stop until the other one was done too.
This is what I felt like when I read your post. Should have slowed down and saw that. Thank you for your help, this place is awesome.
No I didn't get a flasher, they said plug n play. I'll have to check it out tomorrow and see what they do. Might have to speak to the guy at the website and see what they have for it.
Ok update to my LED tail lights. Got them installed in about 5min. flat after looking at the bulb socket.
Here are some pics of the stockers next to the new ones. A little more dramatic when you put them side by side.
Some pics of the day and night look.
Tried a ton of different camera settings to get a good picture of the lights in the dark. They are a whole lot brighter than the stock ones. Even the wife thought they were nice and usually she could care less even if it was on fire.
But it would be nice to have a fold out bbq on it. A new accessory to come up with.
Buddy of mine has one that fits into the receiver hitch for transport & has 2" sq. tubing that is welded to about an 18" disc (plow) when off the receiver.. Really cool setup - no more lifting in & out of bed... Only problem is cannot open tailgate while in the receiver.. Gotta make sure you put the cooler in first....
There is likely a resistor in the new light fixtures for each hot wire (bulb filament). With the same resistance as the old light bulbs they will flash the same rate.
