6.0 Help!
Hi All,
This is my first time on this site and I'm in need of help. I have a 2005 F350 with the 6.0.
My problem is as follows:
When driving the following will happen on an intermitant basis. The transmission temp gauge drops to zero, an audible alarm sounds and the message on the dash says "check transmission temp", at the same time the "tow haul" light begins flashing on the dash.
This goes on for a minute or so and then the transmission temp gauge goes back to normal, the check trans temp message goes away and the tow haul light goes off.
The check engine light is now on as well but has yet to shut off.
Any idea as to what might be causing the problem. The truck has 125K on it and is completely stock.

Sounds like the TFT sensor, or more likely, the harness to the sensor. Seems a fairly common problem. If you search TFT sensor you should find some guides on replacing the sensor, especially if you search the 6.0 forum.
