Engine support issues
I am fixing up a 2000 2WD 4CYL with a blown 4R44E for my daughter.
My question is this, can the engine be carefully lowered and rest just on the motor mounts after the trans is pulled?
I recently broke 12 ribs and fractured 9 vertebrae so I am having to rely on friend's help to pull the trans and get it to the builder.
We have a 'aggressive' homeowner's association so I want to pop it up on jackstands, pull the trans and lower it back down until the trans is done so the association doesn't give me grief.
Trying to be stealthy.

you will need to suppport the engine with a bottle jack or something as you will ruin the mounts if you dont. Plus there are issues with wires, hoses etc.
Jack it up and put some cement blocks 2x4s under the rear housing.
If nothing else get a ratchet tiedown that hold about 1500lbs and tie it under the back of the block and to the shock towers or someplace.
