need your opinion

I own a 2007 GT500 along with my 2004 F250. GT500 has a whipple sc, 6pt custom bar(with swing outs) and other mods that are tastefully done. It is my baby but recently I have been wanting to take the next step in life with my girl and start a family. Now I don't need to sell the mustang, but I need a bigger truck with seats/room, not my reg cab XL..I can't afford to buy a new truck while making the other car payments. So do I sell the GT500 and lose all the cash/time/work I have put in it? I really think selling it and buying a newer bigger truck might be the best bet but I wanna know what u would do... Thanks Mike

What does the girl drive? You getting married, buying a house, picket fence, all that stuff?

IMO the minivan is best when the kids are really small. Sliding doors make it a lot easier to deal with the in/out baby seats, and you have seating flexibility so you can go back and sit next to the kid(s) if need be, or keep them apart...

Our kids were 22 months apart, so we got through that in less than 10 years.

We also had an Explorer at the same time--no comparison for the handiness issue. As for looks, well, when you have to clean up puke and change diapers and don't sleep at night for a couple of years, you start forgetting about all that.

Well, welcome to the world of 'making life altering decisions'!!!!!

If you are not planning on having kids for a few years, I'd trade the truck for one with more interior room and keep the Mustang, although, who is going to be driving the Mustang??
You?? Your soon-to-be wife??
Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Since she will be driving the Mustang, let it go.
Sell the Mustang and buy her either an Edge or a Flex and keep your truck.

My wife and I have gone through the minivan stage.
While they are incredible for hauling the kids (all 4 of 'em) and hauling around parents with limited mobility, minivans are more suited to 30-35 year olds (ahem, or older!)
I'm 56 and we still have a Chrysler T&C LXi. For us, it's been a GREAT minivan.

24-28 year olds (without kids) would tire of the minivan, quickly.
If you and your sigificant other already have a bun in the oven, go for the minivan.

Think of it this way. . . . . just how many suitcases, diaper bags, strollers, baby seats/booster seats, can you get into a 2007 Mustang??

will the mustang be a daily driver? If so,I would get something more practical for daily driving and use the mustang as a sunny day car. Trade/sell the truck on something older extended cab. I suggest 92-96 f150/250,but I may be just a bit prejudiced.

Can you sell the truck you have now and buy the truck you need that's maybe about 2-5 yrs old? That's how I buy cars.

I'd keep the stang. I've had mine since 97, and now I drop the kids off to school in it and they love it.

My son always says "Dad drop me off in the stang"...lol

Ok the mustang is not a DD it has a roll bar which makes it vette status(2 seats).. I spoke with my girl and she won't let me sell the stang. I think I'm going to hold on to the truck and get her a used 4 door car

Now that's a good women! I think you'd have a hard time offing a Shelby and would take a huge hit with the economy the way it is. If I remember correctly the 07 was the first year come back and most sold for way over sticker price. P.S. It sucks that they got rid of the independent rear suspension.
