Muffler Location
Hope this isn't a stupid question, but would it make a difference in sound if the muffler is place further up the exhaust? Possibly less drone in the cab? Right now the muffler is located right before the rear axle and I get a pretty good amount of drone crusing the hwy's and pulling hills.

Hey Glenn. You shouldn't get any drone out of the exhaust unless it is touching something metal. I had this drone when my down pipe was touching the firewall, and a little adjustment and no more drone.

In my opinion it would probably not make much difference where you place the muffler in the system. From years working at a speed shop doing exhaust it usually is more dependant on the muffler style and the the exit location of the exhaust. Drone is could be dampened by changing the exit location. e.g. extending the tip slightly so that it clears the body farther might help and making sure that the system is securely mounted to stop minor vibrations that can help contribute to the drone.

That makes sence Dave. I'll adjust the tips exiting location and see if anything changes. I'll also make sure everthing is nice and tight, last time I checked everything over I just looked for rubbing, not being loose. Thanks for the tips fella's!!
