I spent a lot of time masking on the firewall, and sanding today. At this point, I think it would’ve been faster to strip the cab clean to bare metal, and put it in the rotisserie. Much Better job that way too. Now that I have that rotisserie, I’ll never do it like this again. I really though it would be quicker and easier. Not so much.
I've been trimming around the perimeter of the house foundation this afternoon. Think a baby Back Hoe would be a better choice and replant with baby stuff. Yea thas what I think...twit ! .....
the good point is its so dry I can't even wipe sweat off of my chin anymore. Rain more please ....
My wife doesn't like the idea of it when I suggested I will have to leave the panel parked outside for a few days when it comes time to touch up that paint but I'll have no choice..
I agree John, this was just a few small spots. nothing at all major. Already done. Took me longer to drag everything out and set up than to do it. everything is back in. I did let all the heat and humidity in the shop though.. it was nice and cool in here. Ill have to start warming it up soon though anyway for painting...
How do you do it John? Do you sand, sandblast, chemical strip? Even that little bit in the sun took it out of me, lol. Just came in to cool off for a moment.
For the hood I've already sandblasting the areas with rust and will use the D/A sander to strip the rest. Last year when I did the frame the heat just about killed me but the light of the sun makes it so much easier to see what you're doing. Finding the sunny day when it's 50° is the hard part...lol
