This was a U shaped sweep that encompasses the entire bottom of the door.. It was friction fit and had to use a hammer to get on for the last 6 inches..

As long as they don't drag too tight on the threshold they last a good while. I use these doors a lot running back and forth to the shop and since 87 when I built this place have only changed them out a couple times. The door going into my shop which I built in 2005 still has the original on it, I should probably check it to see if it needs changing..

We put a new front door in when we changed all the windows and I'm not too happy with them. I had triple pane glass before but was talked out of it saying I was wasting my money because double panes were good enough for this area. I should have trusted my own instincts but can't afford to change them out again now and the front door weather stripping is crap because it frosts up around the door. We complained to manufacturer and they told us our problem was too much humidity in the house and that is BS because it's at 35% and you can't touch a thing without getting a shock from the static electricity...

I went from single pane to double pane when we redid our house .. that was several years ago on all of that.... Put in new doors and then vinyl siding..

Dual panes would be more than enough for as warm as your winters are. We get too many days below -20°C here..

For something like that it's okay because it's only a seasonal thing..

Years ago I had over a hundred of them and gave a bunch away, I saved them from going to the dump .They came in handy for building a green house
