I have a 1978 Ford f150 300 with a four speed that I bought really cheap wanted to fix up slowly . One of the problems that I have with it is that when I'm on the road and hit a bump or pothole it veers to right or left especially at higher speeds. What can I do to fix this problem.
for starters, you probably need shocks. a cheap pair of gabrial's from autozone are better than worn out shocks. check all front end components for play as well
2wd or 4wd? if a 4x4 sounds like bump steer. Need to make shure thar the link from the steering box to the axle & the trac bar(bar from the frame to the axle) are at around the same angle.

well its a two wheel drive, and its pretty good play in the steering wheel . The shocks sound about right , Im gonna try that first and see what happens.
