I think I am getting air in my fuel. (i've got a return line kit to put on)
Checked all my glow plugs- they measure ok- glow plug controller stays on for 6 secs, 83 degrees in Tx.
I have only been getting it to start by pressing and holding the pedal all the way down and cranking for 10secs.
This symptom has been getting worse (I am putting the return kit on NOW)
But today it would not fire at all...
Notice that cranking is a bit slower. But it fired with an ether shot.
Batteries measure 12.71 and 12.73 volts...
I dont know the age of the batteries, one is for sure fairly new (looking).
I searched the forum before writing...
How fast does the motor have to spin/how strong do the batteries have to be?
I know this is a subjective question, but.... thanks to dave and festus for the help. Jery

I thought my batteries were ok because I was testing them when they were hooked up. Then using a load tester, not a multimeter I tried with them unconnected and found one was a dead short
If you can count the revs when the engine is cranking it is to slow. Check all battery cable connections both pos. and neg. they need to be clean and tight on both ends of the battery cables.Extended cranking can burn the starter up, 20 seconds max cranking with 2 minutes cool down before cranking again.
