4r100 input shaft

4r100 input shaft
Hi, Ok got my rebuilt tranny back finally. Went to install, and when putting on the torque converter found that , well I think the shaft is not in completely. Now the ATSG book says it slides out, so it should slide in? If I cant get this figured out then will have to take back to the rebuilder. Any suggestions.
