Boy, I don't know whether or not I would get tired of that sound any time soon, but for now that is a ROCKIN' sound! How did it sound under light- and mid-range throttle? I tried to catch that part of the video, but really couldn't tell.
I would say between that intake and a GOOD exhaust from MagnaFlow or Flowmaster, the truck should scare the crud out of any potential competitors, not that any of us would do that sort of thing.....
I like the sound. Just need ss headers and ss performance exhaust, and of course a tune. Then I am in business. That is until a supercharger is offered, and that is a maybe.
The intake sounds normal at light throttle positions. But its still a little loud to hook 10k lbs to truck and tow across country, for me at least. So to counter that, I plan to install Stage 1 of the intake leaving Fords resonators in place to counter the noise. Plus this would be more cost effective. Once i get a maf installed correctly and get some miles on it i will post back my thoughts.
Do you think there might be a critical amount of restriction in the resonator unit? Any difference in feel by the "posterior dyno"? Inquiring (aka nosey...) minds just gotta know.

Hi Gary
Short answer is no OEM does a much better job on their intakes. Are oem intakes the best NO its a compromise just like the exhaust is..
Good point that most factory intakes and exhausts ARE compromises, BUT they are WAY better than they used to be. Now it's a matter of how you want it to sound, and to see IF you actually gain some power along with it. As a Ford guy said in this forum a while back, there IS some power to be gained on the exhaust, but it WILL be louder (like he thought it would be a bad thing!). I'll take THAT compromise anytime! That applies to intakes, too, as long as it's not TOO loud, like you said. Thanks for the quick answer!
Been running this what i call stage 1 seems to work really well with the noise levels...something i think most can handle. Low noise low to mid throttle and once at wot a solid sound of power . Oh and thats the dry filter too.
Looks good Mike - keep us updated. Might have to make some changes. BTW - I've been running stock for a while. Testing the 93perf /tow will let you know. I "feel" hwy mileage is better w your 93 although city might not be as good.
I. Recently put exhaust and k&n and not really impressed with the sound either sounds good at idle but when pushing it a bit or worse hauling a trailer it screams and that dam fan whine is enuff to drive a guy up the wall why are they so loud? Sounds like a big rig!
