2000 ranger 2.5, stick shift, 208,000 miles and the belt went out. To change the timing belt I have read that i might have to open the ac lines to move the ac pump . . . . question is it possible to move the ac pump ( if necessary ) with out opening the ac lines ?
Got all the parts lose, question, any ideas on how to hold the front damper pully from turning so I can remove and retorque on the pully bolt. There is not enuf space between the pully and the ac core to use a impack wrench (radator is out). I see two 1/4 dia hole in the front of the damper pully . . . wonder if thats for a spanner wrench??

them holes are for the bolts for your puller... you might want to try putting a ratchet and socket on the bolt and hittting the ratchet with a hammer

If I'm understanding you correctly, you should be able to put the transmission in Reverse or First gear and block in front and back of a back wheel, then your crank and dampener should not turn, allowing you to break free the dampener bolt with just a socket and breaker bar.
