He told me yesterday he went to unplug the connector after work to get the ECU/PCM number, and he could smell a burnt odor come from the plug. So it sounds like it's definitely the puter. I didn't see it myself, but how does one one remove it from the firewall? Is it basic like a couple of screws and it slides out? Or is it cut thru some caulking then remove it? Or is it more involved? It was getting dark, but his initial impression was it seemed he was going to have to remove some stuff to get it it out?

ive had 2 computers burn on a 92 302 and my 94 lightning. as far as im concerned its a common problem if you have 2 modules burn in the exact same spot.
