To replace the sleave on my truck I removed the pass. side IC pipe and Y-pipe, gave me more room to manuver back there. Get yourself some new fuel sleaves, their not reusable and after all that work you don't want to have to do it again. IMO I'd replace all the sleaves going to and from the fuel bowl, the kit is very cheap, cheap insurance.
