2011 axle help
I was wondering if anyone could give me some help with axle info on a 2011 F350 4X4 with 4.30 gears. I am looking at buying a lot truck with 4.30 gears and would like to hear from people about the drive comfort at highway speeds compared to the 3.73 axle. I'm aware of the drive/tranny numbers and the the increased workload of the gears, but what about an empty truck going down the highway at 75+? My 2000 SD 5.4 runs around 2200 rpm's @ 75 mph and gear hunts a bit in hilly areas, but is fairly quiet otherwise. I think I read where the 4.30's run around 2100 at 75mph in 6th. Test driving the truck really does not give the same feedback as driving it for several hours on the highway. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
