Well as we all know that the latches don’t work all that great I found a different setup at the mid fifty booth at the pigeon forge show this year.
The first thing is to put the template on the door
This is the hole cut out
The latch bracket that comes in the kit placed over the cutout waiting to be bolted up after holes are drilled
The bracket bolted up waiting on the bearclaw latch
Closed the door without the bearclaw latch installed to make sure everything fits
Don’t have pics of it but the door closes better than ever the latches hold it tight without the weather stripping now all I have to do is replace the rotted out bottom of the doors that I found ggrrr work is never done lol
Oh and I found a cherry original 54 grill at the swap for 75 bucks only needs paint no dents or rust!!!
The name its listed in the mid fifty catalog was altmans easy latch kit but the box itself has trique manufacturing on it the web site is triquemfg.com
I just installed those on my 55 about an hour ago; I've had them over a year and just got around to the install. The fit great door closes real easy better than my Camaro.
