v10 engine swap

I have a 1999 f250 non pi v10, I have come across a 2003 complete truck with a v10 I can get cheap. Will this engine work in my 1999 or can I at least use the heads an intake so I can upgrade to pi?

The entire '03 engine will work just fine. There will possibly be some minor differences in electronics and/or mounting brackets for some of the upper end items, but nothing that can't be sorted out easily, and it'll drop right in. It'll run best if you have the PCM retuned for the spark tables for the PI heads, but that's not absolutely necessary.

What he said.

Make sure the '03 intake manifold has an EGR block off plate (I believe it should). You can remove that and install the EGR from your '99. You will also need to modify heater hose coming out of right side cylinder head. Moved from rear to front, and from 5/8" to 3/4".

How did you take care of the heater hose problem? Will the hose off of the 2003 work, or is the heater core different in size too? How do those hoses come off of the heater core, I see they have some kind of fitting on them but have not studied them to much.
