Hi I am a new member. Yesterday I replaced thermostat, and water pump.I also flushed out the system. The temp gauge was running just below the line at the far right by H, and the hoses had alot of pressure on them. After doing all this work, temp gauge runs AT the line to far right, and still have the pressure buildup. What else should i try? Radiator clogged? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I use it for snow plowing. TY
I seem to be on a test kick here today but its simple to find out if the gage or the temp sensor is bad. to test the gauge ground the wire that attaches to the temp sending unit turn on the key gauge should go all the way over if so it's not the gauge. temp sensor can be check by starting with the engine cold and attaching an OHM meter to the temp sensor end and ground start engine and bring to temp resistance should increase if not replace sensor. Sounds to me like you have a plugged radiator. Just replaced mine on my F150 with a 302 had the same symptoms......Good luck. Advanced Auto sells new radiators for $158.00 solved my problem
