Fuel Problem HELP!!!!
read OBD-II codes and actual values. Onece I had very wierd problem! PCM read 2500rpm with ign. on, engine off! I found CPS wiring bad! engine flood itself before we tried start it!
The fuel injectors ground is switched by the computer, so it would seem to me that it's unlikely that ALL the injectors ground wires would go bad at the same time.
SO, are all of the injectors squirting at KOEO????
You can check each injector several ways.
One is by installing a "Noid" light in their electrical connector & it'll light up if their is a short circuit, or ground fault for that injector, or blink when the engine is cranked.
If you don't have a noid light, most autoparts stores have them in their Loan-A-Tool program, for a refundable deposit.
Or if you have a 12 volt LED test light, or multimeter, you could maybe test an injectors wiring by disconnecting & back probing it's electrical connector.
At KOEO the test lamp should light up, & the multimeter should read B+ 12 volts across the connectors contacts IF there is a short to ground, or a compuer ground fault.
The injectors have B+ to one lead at KOEO, the other lead is ground switched by the computer, so at KOEO it should read open circuit & thus the Noid light & test lamp shouldn't come on, or the multimeter shouldn't indicate anything, unless there is a short circuit, or computer ground fault.
The test lamps or multimeter should only indicate something when the engine is cranked & the computer switches the injectors ground.
If that checks out ok, then maybe suspect bad fuel/debris has caused the injectors pintle to stick open, so they'll need to be pulled & cleaned or replaced as has been suggested & the fuel system & lines cleaned/flushed & the fuel filter changed.
Sure hope you don't have to go that route.
More thoughts for consideration.
