Fuel inj input requested
I have a 95 351W EFI and AOD. my question...the 351W efi runs 39-41 psi at the fuel rail, correct me if im wrong please. I'm taking the original fuel tank out from behind the seat for safety/room/noise/etc.
I have a tank from a mid to late 90's Jeep Grand Cherokee, its going into the frame at the rear. I did a little research before gettin this tank and the jeeps run the same fuel pressure as ford. has anyone used the jeep fuel system on a ford efi? cause I don't see why it won't work. I will have issues with the fuel guage but, I'm not worried about that at the moment.
Anybody? thanks in advance! Jeff
Yeah I gotta find out about the lph, but if it isn't right then all I goota do is get a new pump, right? So no big deal there, but I will try to find out the lph and post it here when I do find out.
No mods to the 351W just gonna keep it stock, at least until the truck is complete. I'm gonna have enough time and money involved just to get it done.
I'm not gonna drag race and I think stock will be just fine for us. this truck will not be a trailer queen, just a medium budget driver to hit up the cruises and car shows.
The AOD is from a '90 or '91(can't remember but its marked on the tranny) Mercury Grand Marquis. thanks for the flexplate info! I need to buy one cause the donor '95 truck was a manual tranny, so I didn't get a flexplate. I knew there were differences but wasn't sure. do you know what donor would have what I need?
I pulled some parts off an '88 ford van that had everything! It was an efi 5.8 with an aod, just recently, I couldn't see buying the whole setup, due to the money and not much storage room.I did get the factory TV cable assembly that goes between the tranny and throttle body...that was a major score to me cause I know that the cable assy/pressures have to be correct or shes a gonner.
Also the fuel pump like you said is pretty close..the jeep pump is listed on autozone as 30-40 GPH(not lph?) and the donor truck replacement says 50-60 GPH. I didn't know if it was close enough or not.
I was gonna deal with that later if needed, but a simple fix would be to buy a pump for a 5.9L jeep/dodge...thats simple...wish all my stuff was that easy

I am surprised that autozone lists gph instead of lph. at least its apples to apples comparison.
