Well I finally got tired of putting a ton of miles on my 05 6.0 4x4 Excursion and found a 1990 2wd 7.3 extra cab with 200k on it. The main reason that I purchased it was to be able to works on it and save the Ex for trips.

For the transmission you will need a Mercron spec. ATFfluid, the axles will need 80w90 gear oil or similar. If you have a LSD diff you will need the additive as well.

Otherwise known as SCA's ...Supplimental coolant additive DCA4, Also get the Wix or Fleetguard SCA test strips..... only need 3 a year probably so don't get the 50 pack.
Use low silicate A/F (standard old green stuff) and distilled water only.
