I've been reading other smoke posts, but I guess mine is unique.
1990 7.3 w/Banks turbo. No smoke on start-up, but little puffs of light blue smoke while shifting up to fourth gear. It goes away after about 10 minutes of stop-n-go city traffic. No smoke while idling or driving, just right as I'm shifting, so around 2500rpm. Runs very strong and pulls whatever I throw at it. Also, if I have less than half a tank it will smoke like this, but there's virtually nothing when there's more than half a tank. Outside temp doesn't change it.
On a side note, I baby this truck so much I've never seen black smoke. I had to gun it in 3rd on the freeway ramp to get around a semi..... BIG cloud of black smoke and a nice boost of HP... I was happy
