Can anyone please tell me what negative effect will removing the cat do to my truck?

No problems as long as you dont have emissions in your state let it breath.

I have to remove my cat and take it to my work and weld the seam. I can not get to work without it so I purchased a delete pipe to use until I weld it. I am not looking for 10 more MPG or Loud Exhaust I just can not get it welded any other way.

no cat= lower EGT's, better fuel milage(sometimes), better sound, win win in my book
