Reality check
Good news have vin#of truck i want i assume i can find where its at; and just try all dealers in area for best price? Anyway to locate it based on vin?
Bad news pricing! Was not as expected. My "edmunds" invoice was off by a 100$ fuel charge and 840$ add fee (do not remember acronym). Both these where on invoice but that puts it 940$ higher than edmunds! In addition dealer would not budge from 500$ over. Which took my invoice price plus 940+500= 1440 over what i was execting. Ive bought 5 cars all new fords and all at or below invoice then -rebates.
Is this because dealer transfer is involved? I cant believe ford added 940 onto the end of the invoice seems fishy
Anyway my options are REALLY limited. Reg cab xl 4x4 standard. The 6.8 is impossible to find and i wont pay an extra 1500$ for a autoshift.
So i have a few with options i wasnt origionally looking at and need some info on them
Seat options vinal bench and cloth buckets. Both about 500$ whats the difference vs the base bench? Not really a big deal...
Power group-- 850 alot of money, does it include cruise control. Is cruise an option with the std trans?
Electric locker. Is it reliable? Can i still leave hubs off and use the gearing for heavy low speed work?
And trailer brake controller 230? Just an extra wiring harness or does it includw a different hitch?
All the options on this truck add up to 2400 over the one truck actually in stock loccaly (which is actually exatcly what i want) but the optioned trucks price is STILL 400$ less than the local dealer will let his go for!
Didn't realize you could get them that cheap!
I have an 06 f350 super with a 5.4L
I pull a 18' trailer with a mower in it up a hill no prob, when I put 3,000 pounds of pea stone in it and drive up a hill I definitely wish I had a bigger engine!!
Soon as you want ext cab, xlt, automatic etc you are 5-10k more really quick!
