Electrical problems
I am new to this forum and was hpoing to get some help on my wife's Expedition. Several months ago she thought there was some electrical sounds coming from under the dash, remember this is a woman's description. We took it in and Ford wanted to reseal the windshield and replace the fuse block for the tune of $600. They did a leak test on the windshield and there was no leak. Everything seemed fine till yesterday. Heavy rains and the electrical gremlins appeared. Wipers work when they want to, door locks operate by themselves, radio on when ignition is off and key out. I told her it was possessed. She took my truck to work and I began checking the vehicle over. Everthing worked fine, except the blower fan stayed on after the ignition was off. I had to manually turn it off. It had stopped raining and was only a drizzle while I drove it. My concern is to let Ford do their thing with the thought that it is just a guess on the fix. I was thinking about taking it to a glass shpo and having the windshield resealed, if possible. Upon my checking under the dash it was dry and no evidence of water leakage. If it is a leak it must be a small amount and falling in the right spot to cause all the troubles. Any thoughts on what you might do to correct it. It has been a good vehicle until now, 45,000 miles. Electrical problems
Usually the windshield leaks water onto the brace that runs from one side of the dash to the other. From there it drips onto the GEM and fuse box. Most of the time both the GEM and fuse box will have to be replaced at the same time but sometimes it is only one or the other. On yours though the wipers and door lock problems are probably the GEM and the heater staying on is probably the fuse box
