I went out the other day, my truck looked like this


When I came home here is what I found

 

100% better look in my opinion. I have always liked the painted bezel look of the KR version and wish the Lariat would have that option too. Painting the bezel still leaves just he right amount of chrome. W/O the patined bezel, there's just too much chrome, but this is purely personal preference. Painting the upper mirror caps and bezel is on my list of mods for the Lariat version.

 

How will it handle chips? Did they remove the chome finish and then repainted it or did they paint over the chrome?

By the way, it looks nice. Been thinking of doing it to mine.

 

That should be like that from the factory!! That looks great!! It looks better than when you got it!

 

Absolutely agree...this should be a factory option. Perhaps this should be added to the 2012 wish list thread. They do this for the KR version, they should be able to do it for the Lariat at least too.

I honestly thought the painted bezel was part of the Lariat package, but I guess not. Now I'm even happier with my decision to go KR

I can't see the pics here at work (photobucket and similar are blocked) but I'll check them out when I get home. I'm sure they look great!

But I'll be the first to say. I Like the Chrome a lot better. The Chrome is BIG BOLD and Says FORD aka SUPERDUTY.

I do like it, just not for me.

I ordered the paintable one for the KR from ford and had my brothers body shop paint it. I will probaly but the chrome one back on for the winter, so the painted one doesn't get chipped

 

I agree. I think that big chrome front end is way cool.

 

That looks good but I wish I wouldn't have seen this now...it's tempting.
Your mirrors are folded in, do you have the chrome mirror caps?
If yes, does it look ok or are you going to change those also?

 

Yes I have the chrome mirrior caps. I think it looks good with them. I liked the chromed grill to but thought I'd do something to change it up

 

so how much of a rip off was this grill

 

As in price? I think it was around $200. I'll have to check. I get a good deal from my dealer because he sells a lot of my roof lights, and I buy a lot of wiring harnesses from him for my in store light displays.

"Too much chrome" I didn't think there was such a thing. But like you said it's purely personal preference.

I'm thinking about adding chrome door handle covers, chrome lettering on the tailgate, and chrome billet grills.
