f350 coil spring conversion????

f350 coil spring conversion????
has anyone converted a f250 or f350 from 4x2 to 4x4 and retained the coil springs in the front wondering how it would turn out if it was done similarly to the newer trucks. obviously theres alot of fab work but id like to know if it could be done if i knew what i was doing?

my 76 f350 supercab has coils in the front i was wondering if i could keep the coils when i convert to 4x4 or if im just waisting my time. both the 250 and 350 have leaf springs front and rear on 4x4s

I know there is someone on this site who has done exactly what you are asking. I think it was a red super cab. I'll try to find it but no promises. Lots of pics in his gallery as well.

it probb. woulden't be that hard. You would need a front axle from a f150 4x4 and use the outer spindles,rotors and hubs from a dana 44 3/4 ton.you would have to fab a trac bar bracket and make a steering box mount.
