Hey AZ Chapter-I have a '05 F350 SRW 6.0. This last weekend it started surging under a load. I read some threads that recommended that I disconnect the EGR ! This is my first diesel, where is the EGR on this motor. I'm not worried about later down the road if the EGR is disconnected/smog check. Is this what I should consider doing??
uggg another 6.oh no!
egr valve can cause surging, it is just behind the alternator,
how do you drive the truck?
the 6.0 does not like to be idled at all. if it is going to idle you must have the high idle mod.
the 6.0 needs to run against the governor at lest once a week to clean the egr cooler.
clean oil is a must!!!!!!! no more than 5,000 miles. I prefer shell rotella synthetic. use motorcraft filters on the 6.0
oil stictioning can cause havoc. if this is suspected run "hot shot secret" Hot Shot's Secret
also could be the variable vane turbo is getting carboned up.
any codes?
if so post them, for the most part the parts stores can't get deep enough with their code readers for the ford diesel trucks.
