removing bolt from leaf spring bushing?

anyone ever tried to push the bolt out with like a gear puller?

I have this project coming up maybe this weekend and thought this may be a way to get that stubborn bolt out with relatively small mounts of pain.

The best way I've found is to completely remove the spring from the truck, and, while laying it on it's side against a brick or something equally hard, use a punch and a BFH to hammer it out.

Hope this helps some!

I used a ball joint press to get mine out,was much easier than cutting it.

i had to use a jack with some carefully places chains that held the spring down, while the jack only pushed up on the bolt. Yeah it was a lot of work

The BFH and a brick didnt work for me, it shattered the brick, and nothing happened.

If you could get your hands on a hydraulic press that would work too

+1 on 83project's suggestion. If you're replacing worn suspension parts that bushing is probably pretty worn out too, and should be removed for replacement anyway.

I agree, heat the sleeve till it melts the rubber like a smore on a campfire and just slide it out.
