rear end swap

I don't know what rear end comes standard in a 1995 f350 dually with the 7.3 but I want to know if can be swapped with the rear end from a 1999 f350 dually because I think they have the same wheels and disc brakes.

Both trucks should have a Sterling rear axle. I think the spring perch widths are different between the two as well as different wheel lug spacing.

Will the disc brakes on the 99 fit the axle on the 95? Has anybody tried that fix?

Okay, for the 95 they could of had a 10.25 or a Dana 70 or 80, I don't know which. The 99 will have a Dana 80. Either way, the 95 will have the old 8-lug pattern and the newer truck will have the new metric one.

I learn something new here everyday.... A previous post suggested getting a photo of the '99 year axle, that would be a good idea. According to this site: Randy's Ring & Pinion Ford Rear Differentials it could be a D70, D80 or Sterling 10.5". The Dana axles have a 10 bolt rear cover, the Sterling will have 12 bolts.
