I was thinking of ordering a set of summit headers for my 79 F250. Has anyone had trouble with these headers? What I was planning was to bolt the headers on and then get a set of purple hornies that bolt directly to the headers and putting turndowns right after them? Does anyone see a problem with this setup? What about clearances with transfercase/transmission? thanks in advance.
If your truck is a 4X4, I doubt you'll have enough room to bolt up just about any kind of muffler straight to the header. I could be wrong though.
If your truck is 2wd then you should be fine. beartracks is right, it will be LOUD. Most likely exhaust fumes will flow right into the cab if you roll down a window a little. Definently just a temporoary solution.... my 2c
is it a stick? usually the clutch linkages get in the way on the driver's side even if the transfer case isn't. then you have to cross the driver's side to pass. side and run the pipes next to each. Kinda sucky, but it works. just make sure if it's a 4x4 truck, you have a 4x4 oil pan or the headaches just grow.
