C6 Installation

Well I been working on my 69 upgrades and it's time to install the C6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it will not fit if the motors already installed in the truck. I see no way of getting it in without pulling the motor. This truck originally came with a 3 speed manual transmission. Is there something I'm missing or am I just an idot.

You can R&R the trans by removing the intermediate crossmember.

Auto cross-member is bolted on. Manual cross-member is riveted on.

I think you can drill out the rivets. Remove cross-member. Install tranny. Bolt cross-member back in.

I think you will also need the auto tranny mount that bolts to the cross-member.

After a second look I decided to cut the rivots out and remove the crossmember. Although it was a pain,it was much easier than pulling the motor.
