wiper rebuild
ok it is the rainy season here and just found out my wiper's are frozen..can the vacume wiper moter be rebuilt ?or is it safer or cheeper to upgrade to electric?and if electric is there a better after market unit then fitting a ford unit from the wreckers?

I see that you have a slant cab truck, I used a motor from a VW Rabbit, mounted on the drivers side inside the cowl (behind the hood hinge) and used a 1/4 rod to drive the mechanism. It is a multi speed motor and only cost me $10 from a VW wrecking yard. There is a picture of the whole ***'y in my gallery under firewall/cowl/hood. By the way, my truck is a 56 but I am using a slant cab wiper ***'y LOL

I replaced my 6 votl electric wipers in the 51 with 12 volt (plus delay wiper switch) from Newport Engineering - and love it.
