Could someone please tell me difference in size of the front clip between a 56 f100 & a f600? Is it just the wheel wells or other dimensions. I was told the f600 was wider. If so where is the width different? Where there more than 2 sizes of fiont ends. I am working with a 55 school bus f-600 but I think it has a 56 front end on it. Will a nose from an f100 fit a f600? Thanks
No change in wheelbase. The larger wheel openings where for the larger 8.25/20 tires and rims. The F-350 used 16 or 17 in wheels so used the same fenders as the F-100.
I have found a tilt front end I was thinking about getting. The guy is telling me it has the larger wheel opening for a f600. He also says it is 4 inches wider. Seems odd that someone would make a fiberglass front end for the larger trucks. I have not physically seen it yet. I took the fender off of the bus and compared it to a f100 fender and it looked like wheel opening was not in the same place. There's no way the fenders would have been different because it was a bus is there?
The overall shape of the fenders between the f100 and f600 are the same. To make the wheel well opening larger they moved the opening a little larger both forward and back. The back portion of the fender also is a couple inches longer to attach the the running boards. The width between the f100/f600 are the same. It's not until you get into the big jobs that the fenders get any wider.
