Ford Station Wagon
Can anyone try to help me figure out why my 2000 ford taurus just lost power last night. My check engine light has been on for months but `course i keep driving. Got up this morning and one of my 20 amp fuses was blown. I replaced it and started the car and it blew up again. I started and drove and this thing was just dragging out the parking lot. It barely moves until it gets up to about 30m/hr then it picks up. There are slopes i cannot even climb now. i replaced the plugs, that did not help. There is an alarm sign I had never seen before on the dash. The car just shakes when in gear but is smooth in neutral and i even drove 90 miles about an hour ago on the highway. Could it be my EGR valve? I do not wanna take it to the shop coz they will give me a whole bunch of code stuff and a massive bill that i cannot afford right now.
Any ideas?

You definitely need to know what codes it is throwing. Some parts stores will pull the codes for free, phone around.
