Do a simple search, Ive never done a swap like that before. But im sure there is tons of information on 302 swaps all over the net, and probably tons on this site.

oh ya that wasn't much of an intro on your part but welcome to the forum from New Brunswick

All you need is small block perches, insulators and radiator. Your current harness can be converted for the electrick's. The 302 will need the correct balance flywheel.

The 302 and 300 share the same bell housing pattern.

Welcome to FTE!!! Have the 65 with T18 (4sp) and swapped 6 for 302 and bolted right up. Will need the 302 flywheel, also the 302 engine mounts. Made the swap in 74 and process somewhat fuzzy, seem to recall the engine mounts were slightly off on couple holes and had to redrill. Found the 6 cyl. clutch pivot ball thread was different on the 302 block so retreaded to fit; it would have been best to have taken the pivot ball off the donor truck with the 302. IMO, the swap was the best think I could have done; granted purchased the truck at a county auction and an engine with lots of miles but the added pick up with minimal, if any, loss in MPG was like the difference between night and day. I kept the original radiator and drove the truck for some 35 yrs without an over heating problem. Also, often used the truck for hauling and occasionally tested the trucks limitations but the 302's ability to haul the load has never been an issue. Rebuilt engine few yrs. ago and decided to add slightly bigger cam and swap 2bbl for a 4bbl and added headers, wish I would have left well enough alone. As noted, there are quite a number of members who have made the swap so hopefully other members will be chiming in with addition advice. Again, welcome to FTE.

Only other though on top of my head to consider is the gas pedal/carb linkage (Firewall to carb) from 6 to V-8 is different!

Oh yea, great point!! Since the engine was out, decided to do away with the cable and went with direct linkage but required cutting hole at the trans tunnel where the firewall and floor panel meet.
